The slides below give an outline of our social and labour plan software. Just click at the bottom left to thumb through.
We link your Sharepoint to Excel, which then automatically update your SLP Word document in our social and labour plan software.
No more trying to guessing what your last SLP data update is!
Below is more information and graphics on our social and labour plan software.
We start with decoding your real commitment: Your real Social and Labour and Mining Charter commitments stem from your approved SLP at the commencement of your 5-year SLP cycle. Additionally, new regulations, such as aspects of Mining Charter III, have been introduced. We agree on these key commitments, which are the mission-critical ones that need to be tracked. Below you will find a typcial Biosheet from your WSP and ATR.

In addition to the above, we also upload your Procurement Database. See the picture below.

In addition to both the employee biosheet and the procurement database, we also calculate your Mining Charter Scorecard. See this in the picture below.

We then build a master SLPMC Tracker on your Sharepoint, or a project management tool you prefer. See Smartsheet below.

From the above , tasks can automatically be generated with reminders.

Where I receive reminders…

And create tasks for tracking:

Below is an exmple of your dynamic Mining Scorecard.

We assist you in updating your monthly Mining Scorecard: Once a month, we will help you update all your data, which then feeds into your dynamic scorecard.
Your performance at your fingertips monthly
Continuous cycle: On a monthly basis, you can update your data, or we can assist you, ensuring your performance is always up-to-date.
Mining Charter III imposes new regulations that mines have to comply with. Although still under review, mines will need to comply with its reporting standards, and will need to audit themselves against the new B-BBEE Scorecard. With over 20 new reporting formats, and well over 600 data-points to measure compliance, this poses a managerial challenge.
We all know that questioning the logic of compliance does not do any good – the best thing is to comply as quick and cost-efficiently as possible.
Note our Mining Charter Compliance Manager is the only application that is pre-loaded with intellectual content -all the regulations have been converted into data points and is ready for management.
In simple language the user receives a spreadsheet pre-loaded with intelligence.
Our systems and coaching is designed to service most segments of the mining sector.
The quickest method of measuring your SMC compliance is to use the spreadsheet we designed for this task. We added every compliance aspect from the mining charter as data-points to our spreadsheet. All you need to do is complete the questions, and send to us. The spreadsheet covers three main topics:
- Scorecard categories, aspects and commitments. These are used to calculate your level of B-BBEE compliance.
- Reports. As every report your mine needs to complete is listed, you simply need to capture the status of your report completion. This will then indicate to you your level or report readiness and compliance.
- Policy compliance. There are well over 30 new policy issues to contend with, and we took the trouble of identifying them all. You can assess your level of compliance to this.
To get this done, we provide you with the spreadsheet content, and you complete all the data-points and this will give you a quick diagnosis of how compliant or not your mine is.
Should you need more assistance than simply completing our compliance spreadsheet, we can assist you with understanding the new Mining Charter and make it digestible for you to manage.
Through our Partner, Pivot-systems, we have the software solution that a mine can load onto their server and from there its employees can manage its SMC Compliance.

We are here to help. Mine Charter Compliance is a business process in its own right, and one one of the most important business processes for a mine. Best thing to do, is to do it right.

You have Microsoft 365, why pay for expensive external software?
Junior and small-scale mines need to comply, just like multi-national mines, but it does not need complicated software solutions to do so. Try ‘your’ software – let’s demo to you how you can do Safety, Health, Environment, SLP, Mining Charter and all other forms of Compliance.
Our story rings true – compliance software solutions should fit a mine’s context. We have seen over-complicated software solutions to clients that becomes a black hole that many miners do not understand. Because they don’t understand, they rather stay “invested” in the wrong products. Our mission is straight-forward – use MS Teams and SharePoint to manage all your compliance needs. Most mines have Microsoft 365, why not use what you pay for?
So confident are we that our (‘your’) Microsoft 365 software works for compliance management, that we will set it up for you to trial. We can do this because we leverage Microsoft who continuously upgrades its software to world-class standards.
The landing page of ‘your’ app is shown in the graphic below. Note, this is done on MS SharePoint, an integral part of MS Teams.

What are the benefits of using our (‘your’) app:
1. We assist you to customise your compliance management – this is quick and easy and does not compromise on quality control standards.
2. Your users are familiar with MS products, hence minimal training is required to get users up to speed.
3. The app is based on MS Teams / SharePoint. The software is in essence for “free” and hence expensive development costs are avoided.
4. The app integrates with Outlook, Excel, Word and other MS applications.
5. You will have the benefits of project management, alerts, automatic email sending, and all other standard “Task” functions.
6. Our (‘your’) app comes fully loaded with an easy to complete mining charter scorecard.

SLP4Good and Pivot-Systems have now joined forces. Combining SLP4Good’s deep Mining Charter expertise with Pivot’s systems will give clients a rich solution for Mining Charter compliance management.

The strategy is to provide competence that solves social license to operate challenges for a mine. In the information systems industry, vendors sell platforms and solutions without content, but given the complexity of the social license to operate environment, we went further: we converged content with the Compliance software and this ensures a mine can manage its compliance immediately. The benefits for a mine ought to be clear: the application is used immediately, standard regulations are provided for a mine to do a gap analysis, and implementation costs are reduced.
In the table below it is shown how Pivot uses a logical approach to allow a mine to systemise its community management process. Also click this link to see Pivot’s Community Development Solution on their website.
| 1. Database stakeholder and community profile | 2. List impacts, needs and opportunities |
| 3. Build SED projects into community management plan | 4. Manage risks and opportunity action plans throughout mine |
| 5. Link results to SLP and Mining Charter Scorecard | 6. Extract information into standard reports[wp-svg-icons icon=”arrow-right-3″ wrap=”span”] |
The information managed in Pivot’s community development platform from above is then linked to the Mining Charter Compliance Manager.
Note our Mining Charter Compliance Manager is the only application that is pre-loaded with intellectual content -all the regulations have been converted into data points and is ready for management.
In simple language the user receives a spreadsheet pre-loaded with intelligence.
In the tab-figure below, the various worksteps as they occur on the Mining Charter Compliance application is explained. A mine would move from scoring itself using SLP4Good’s intellectual capital to managing and reporting on its score. The scoring includes an assessment of compliance with the B-BBEE Scorecard, reporting and policy adherence.
Scorecard: Using SLP4Good’s content, score yourself using our 66 datapoints. These data points are standard in the MC Compliance Manager application.
Reports: Are you ready to submit the new 22 Mining Charter reports?
Policies: Do you comply with all the new policies?
Use the verification and audit section to ensure that scoring is correct. Pivot’s software necessitates mine management to verify the information captured.
Analyse the gaps and decide a course of action. The mine will receive a gap scoresheet that shows its actual performance, the mine’s commitment for a particular year, and the B-BBEE compliance targets and weightings. The mine would easily be able to determine where it is lagging, or leading.
Using the Action Manager application, the mine can allocate actions throughout the organisation. Pivot’s action manager is a world-class module that allows a mine to allocate tasks, send emails, set follow up dates and create alerts. All tasks follow the set process of plan, do, check and act.
